German-based night delivery company Night Star Express recorded mid-single digit percentage growth in the first half of 2015, driven by its cross-border business and new customers in the core industries.
During the first six months of this year, the company, which sees itself as Europe’s second-largest night delivery specialist, transported around 2.43 million shipments, which corresponds to the same volume growth a year ago when it delivered 2.4 million parcels.
“We remain satisfied with the constant single-digit percentage growth in view of the continuously critical competition and price situation,” Night Star Express managing director Matthias Hohmann said.
“In the next few months, we will concentrate on the expansion of our service offering for our main target groups to convince further customers. We see our expectations confirmed especially in the expansion of our European service offering which our customers are highly interested in,” he added.
To boost the increasing internationalisation and keep pace with the changing market requirements, Night Star Express decided to renew its advisory board with new appointments, with Marcel Tüscher from the partner Night Star Express Switzerland playing a key role in the company’s internationalisation strategy.
Night Star Express was founded in 1993 by seven medium-sized German freight companies. The carrier picks up parcels across Germany by late afternoon and delivers them by not later than eight in the morning. Shipments are delivered to exact and individually prescribed locations, such as car boots, storehouses or depot boxes.
