GLS signs up A2B Express as new partner in Southeast Europe

GLS has signed up A2B Express as its new network partner its Southeast Europe, with the two companies working together in Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Macedonia, Montenegro and Kosovo from the beginning of this year.

A2B Express operates numerous hubs and depots in the region. Founded in 2008, the company offers its roughly 3,000 customers a broad range of parcel and logistics services.

As part of the cooperation, both firms feed international parcels into their partner’s network, with the respective partner handling further transportation and delivery. GLS Croatia’s hub in Zagreb serves as an interface for cross-border parcels. GLS and A2B Express work closely together to coordinate customs clearance. With the two companies having linked their IT systems, it is possible to seamlessly track parcels and smoothly process service queries.

“The strong presence of A2B Express in Southeast Europe is an ideal addition to our pan-European network,” said Saadi Al-Soudani, Managing Director International at GLS. “A2B Express has market- and country-specific knowledge that is especially valuable in view of the sometimes challenging political and economic conditions in the countries concerned.”

“By joining forces with GLS, we are expanding our portfolio and enabling our customers to tap into new markets,” Josip Krznaric, General Manager of A2B Express, commented. “Our links with the comprehensive European network of GLS also constitute a powerful argument when it comes to gaining new customers. We, too, are focused on quality, reliability and flexibility.”

The countries in the region of Southeast Europe are working to intensify internal economic cooperation between each other and with the EU, as agreed at the West Balkans Summit, held in Vienna in August 2015.

Al-Soudani added: “We are confident that the trade will increase. And we are happy to contribute to this aim with our partnership.”
