Two million Europeans now use UPS My Choice delivery service

UPS My Choice includes a 'Follow My Package' function

More than two million consumers in Europe now use the UPS My Choice online service to manage their deliveries, UPS announced today.

Worldwide, more than 26 million consumers use the free service which was launched in October 2014 to provide retailers with a platform for helping online shoppers have more visibility and control over delivery of their online purchases.

UPS My Choice members receive an email or text message the day before a shipment arrives. If they won’t be home, they can re-route most packages to their workplace, a neighbor’s home or a nearby UPS Access Point location. These local businesses, such as neighborhood grocery stores, tobacconists and petrol stations have extended evening and weekend hours. Most delivery alerts also include an estimated delivery window.

Where available, retailers may also send consumers additional messages embedded in the UPS My Choice alert, including loyalty or related products offers.

Earlier this year, UPS launched a new 'Follow My Delivery' function for the 22 million My Choice users in the USA. This enables them to monitor the progress of their packages on a live map.

During the busy summer holiday season, UPS My Choice members can manage their deliveries by using a vacation setting to have packages held and delivered when they return home. An online calendar also helps members manage their deliveries in one place.

“UPS My Choice gives online shoppers the gift of convenience and control,” said Frank Sportolari, UPS Country Manager Germany. “With the continued growth of global e-commerce comes more packages. UPS is focused on delivering where consumers are, not where they aren’t. Our portfolio of services for retailers is focused on helping them grow by enhancing the online shopping experience.”

The UPS My Choice service is a key feature of the UPS Mobile App, which is available in 12 countries across Europe – Austria, Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Poland, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the UK.
