German overnight express specialist Night Star Express (NSE) has taken over the regional franchise of Eiltrans Nachtverteilerservice GmbH, with the sales agreement being signed in October last year.
The Joint Venture Night Star Express Hellmann & Honold GmbH, which was founded in 2006, will thus take over, in addition to the Nuremberg area, two additional locations in Malsch (Karlsruhe) und Frankfurt, from which overnight express services are offered within the NSE network.
From here, large parts of south-western Germany as well as Luxembourg and neighbouring Alsace are served via overnight express transportation. As part of the acquisition, the new franchisee will take over all employees at the Malsch and Frankfurt locations, so that the business will continue operating seamlessly and business relations with all customers and system partners will be preserved.
With the sale of the franchise, Eiltrans owner Norbert Rödel is retiring.
"With the seamless takeover of the overnight express business of Eiltrans Nachtverteilservice GmbH by the joint venture founded by two Night Star Express shareholders at the beginning of the new year, we have found internally an optimal solution to continue offering our customers a comprehensive ‘First Class’ overnight express service within a highly efficient network,” Night Star Express Managing Director Matthias Hohmann said.

Overnight express deliveries are on an expansion course, in which we will participate together within the network. Especially in the south-western conurbation, which is strongly characterised by the automotive industry and mechanical engineering, there is a particularly strong demand for overnight express services," Wilfried Hesselmann, Managing Director of the Joint Venture Night Star Express Hellmann & Honold GmbH & Co. KG, commented.
Night Star Express was founded in 1993 by seven medium-sized German freight companies. The carrier picks up parcels across Germany by late afternoon and delivers them by not later than 8am in the morning. Shipments are delivered to exact and individually prescribed locations, such as car boots, storehouses or depot boxes.
