Donald Pilz is new nox Group CEO

Donald Pilz

Former TNT and Hermes manager Donald Pilz has been appointed CEO of the German in-night express specialist nox Group.

Pilz, who has also taken a stake in the company, took up his new post last week. The experienced logistics industry manager worked for many years for TNT and was CEO of Hermes Europe until early last year.

The nox Group comprises the former TNT Innight business that was acquired in 2016 and the former CAT Germany activities which were taken over in 2017 and integrated into the company.

Nox, which claims to be Europe’s largest in-night delivery specialist, now aims to expand internationally following a successful financial turnaround. Pilz has been tasked with developing the existing activities in Germany, Austria, Netherlands and Belgium, as well as looking into partnerships and/or acquisitions.

With more than 1,000 staff, the company delivers up to 160,000 shipments per night, mostly emergency spare parts for automotive customers, and generates revenues of about €240 million in Germany, and more than €300 million in total.
