MYFLEXBOX signs deals with bp and Austrian e-retailers

MYFLEXBOX locker at bp petrol station

MYFLEXBOX, which offers deliveries to carrier-neutral parcel lockers in Austria, is expanding through new cooperations with bp and online shops LIBRO und PAGRO DISKONT.

Just in time for Christmas, MYFLEXBOX smart lockers complement the one-stop-shop offer at selected bp petrol stations. At the first four locations in Vienna, parcels can already be stored, picked up or returned in a flexible and contactless way.

In total, MYFLEXBOX plans to install lockers at 20 bp petrol stations all over Austria. Overall, bp Austria has a network of around 230 petrol stations and employs more than 80 people.

Time and CO2 savings at bp petrol stations

As the largest open smart locker network in German-speaking countries, MYFLEXBOX prefers central locations with high frequency to promote the reduction of distances and thus contribute to CO2 savings while also helping people save time.

Lukas Wieser, co-founder and CEO of MYFLEXBOX, said: "If parcels are collected, shipped and returned at bp petrol stations, the time gained can be invested elsewhere. In view of the Christmas season which already goes full speed, every distance and kilometer saved is a gain – for parcel service providers, e-commerce retailers, customers and our living space, which must be protected."

"Our goal is to continuously develop bp petrol stations as central hubs for supplying people with what they need, and we are pleased to be able to offer our customers this great additional offer together with MYFLEXBOX from now on," Melanie Milchram-Pinter, Managing Director at bp Austria, said.

Cooperations with PAGRO DISKONT and LIBRO

In a separate move, MYFLEXBOX has teamed up with the Austrian online retailers PAGRO DISKONT and LIBRO, which are part of the MTH Retail Group.

The deal enables customers of the two retailers to get their online orders delivered to currently almost 400 MYFLEXBOX lockers throughout Austria. To do so, they just need to select a smart locker of their choice at the checkout.

Large range of products, convenient pickup and returns

Customers have a large range of products to choose from including stationery, gift items, accessories for the office and home office, books, technology and leisure articles. The items can be picked up and returned at one of the MYFLEXBOX lockers 24/7.

Depositing the parcels in a smart locker avoids unsuccessful doorstep deliveries while combining parcel collection and returns with other everyday obligations also saves unnecessary journeys and CO2, MYFLEXBOX stressed.

Leading retail group as first e-commerce customer

"With the MTH Retail Group, we have gained our first e-commerce customer integrating the MYFLEXBOX delivery option into its own online shops. The advantages of the cooperation benefit, above all, consumers, who can have their goods ordered online delivered to almost 400 MYFLEXBOX locations. This makes the shopping experience even more convenient. At the same time, the new MYFLEXBOX delivery service helps improve delivery efficiency," Wieser said.

Ulrike Kittinger, Managing Director at LIBRO and PAGRO DISCOUNT, added: " Through the cooperation with MYFLEXBOX, we enable our customers to pick up the ordered goods around the clock and return them regardless of various opening hours. This way, we create maximum flexibility and convenience, which allows us to further increase customer satisfaction."

The MTH Retail Group unites successful brands from Austria, Germany and Switzerland under one roof. Founded in 2002, MTH Retail Group entered the Austrian market with LIBRO as the driving brand and now counts some 770 branches and almost 5,000 employees making it the leading supplier of products for the office, school and leisure in the entire DACH region.

Cooperations with major parcel carriers

Last month, MYFLEXBOX entered the German market in cooperation with GLS Germany which opened its first MYFLEXBOX parcel terminal in Erding near Munich. By the end of the year, the partners plan to install more parcel lockers in Germany, with the initial focus on metropolitan areas, especially Berlin, Hamburg and the Ruhr area.

MYFLEXBOX has set itself the goal of installing 500 parcel lockers in Germany as soon as possible. In Austria, it targets around 400 parcel terminals by the end of the year. Last year, MYFLEXBOX signed deals with UPS, DHL Express and DPD in Austria.
