Swiss Post re-purposes letter sorting centres

Swiss Post will start to turn regional letter sorting centres into mail and parcel delivery offices in response to steadily falling letter volumes and rising numbers of parcels.

With letter volumes dropping by about 5% a year, the postal operator intends to partially adapt its letter sorting network over the coming years.

In particular, Swiss Post plans to re-purpose its regional letter sorting centres in Kriens (between Zurich and Bern) and Gossau (near St Gallen) for delivery operations and to consolidate letter sorting within its overall logistics operations.
