Online sales of goods in France recovered well last year and returned to 2021 levels, according to new figures, generating higher volumes of B2C parcels, and should grow even more strongly this year.
In 2024, after two years of slowdown, product sales increased by 6% to a value of €66.9 billion, according to figures from the French e-commerce association Fevad. This was equivalent to the level of 2021, representing a clear comeback after weak trends in 2022 and 2023.
This growth, which picked up quarter by quarter, was driven by an unprecedented 11% rise in the number of transactions to 1.28 billion. This left online sales with an 11% share of overall retail sales in France.
