Both FedEx and UPS have restored their money-back service guarantees for shipments from China and various other markets to the US following President Trump’s recent U-turn over the ending of de minimis exceptions for low-value imports.
The two express giants had each suspended these guarantees for shipments from China and Hong Kong in the wake of President Trump’s imposition of a 10% tariff on imports from China as of February 4. This effectively ended the de minimis exception for import shipments with a value of less than $800.
But three days later, on February 7, the President reversed his decision and suspended the ban as packages awaiting customs checks piled up at US airports and other entry points.
