PostNL seeks more sustainable parcels growth

PostNL targets parcels growth. (Source: PostNL)

PostNL wants to focus more strongly on sustainable parcels growth in future, both in Benelux and internationally, while securing €68 million in government support for its ‘unsustainable’ Dutch mail business after presenting weak financial results for 2024 amid challenging market conditions.

Both outgoing CEO Herna Verhagen and CFO Pim Berendsen, who will take over from her in April, stressed yesterday (February 24) that the Dutch postal group will re-jig its strategy to benefit more strongly from parcels growth while continuing to manage the structural decline in the letters business. An updated mid-term strategy is due to be presented in September.
