Royal Mail launches postbox proof of posting

Royal Mail has introduced a new service which enables customers to receive a proof of posting receipt when they drop off smaller parcels and packets at one of the operator’s 115,000 postboxes spread across the UK.

The service has been launched as the soaring popularity of second-hand fashion marketplaces, such as Vinted, means more people are sending smaller parcels that fit through a letterbox.

It also comes as Royal Mail prepares to hike stamp prices to tackle falling letter volumes and increasing USO costs.
