Belgian postal operator bpost has revealed that one in five parcels are now delivered emission-free thanks to strategic investments in out-of-home pick-up points, parcel lockers and electric vehicles.
The investments are part of bpost’s commitment to ensure that all its deliveries are emission-free by 2030. The operator confirmed that it will continue to invest in its EV fleet, which is the largest of its kind in Belgium, and the further roll out of OOH delivery points and Ecozones.
In 2025, bpost’s Ecozones, which are urban zero carbon emission parcel and letter delivery zones, will be expanded to Antwerp, Charleroi, Mouscron, Wavre, Lier, Eeklo, and the Westhoek region. Currently, bpost has around 15 Ecozones across Belgium.
