Polish e-commerce giant Allegro plans to roll out more lockers in 2025 to cut delivery costs after they soared by nearly 23% last year, according to its fourth quarter results, which revealed the firm produced a strong finish to the financial year.
Allegro, a leading online marketplace operating across Central and Eastern Europe, saw its delivery costs rise by 22.9% in 2024, reaching 2.84bn zlotys (€678.5 million). At the same time, the firm’s Allegro One Boxes saw volumes increase by 118% year-on-year (YoY) in 2024.
The company said that the surge in popularity of its out-of-home (OOH) boxes is helping to drive the unit cost down and that by the end of 2025, “Allergo’s APMs are expected to be a cheaper option per parcel than paying its most expensive supplier.”
