Austrian Post expands premium Sunday deliveries

Austrian Post is creating new jobs by expanding parcel deliveries on Sundays for retailers willing to pay for the premium service.

After a successful trial since last October in four districts of Vienna with positive feedback from senders and recipients, the postal operator will add nine more districts at the end of April and the remaining parts of the capital in early summer.

Sunday delivery is a new service especially for premium retail customers. Only parcels from online stores that are willing to pay a corresponding surcharge will be delivered on Sunday. All other parcels will be delivered as usual from Monday to Saturday.
