The new CEO of PostNL, Pim Berendsen, has revealed his key priorities for the struggling postal operator, including a greater focus on international growth, further expansion of its out-of-home (OOH) network and a faster time-to-market for new solutions to drive growth after a financially disappointing year in 2024.
After seven years as CFO, Berendsen was appointed CEO of PostNL on April 15, succeeding Herna Verhagen who announced her departure late last year after 13 challenging years in the role. Furthermore, Linde Jansen was appointed CFO, completing PostNL’s two-person Board of Management. Both appointments are for a term of four years.
Berendsen’s main role is to drive sustainable growth at PostNL, after the post recorded a preliminary operating result (normalised EBIT) of €53 million in 2024, a significant drop from €92 million the previous year. PostNL, with operations in the Netherlands, Belgium and internationally through Spring, had forecasted normalised EBIT of around €80 million in November 2024.
