GLS has extended its FlexDeliveryService for consumer parcel deliveries to 13 countries with the
addition of Luxemburg.
Recipients in the Grand Duchy can now select the time and place of their parcel delivery to
suit their personal requirements for orders from senders using the free service.
Under the FlexDeliveryService, GLS informs recipients by e-mail of the day and expected
delivery time of their parcel. They can then select an alternative delivery day or address or
re-direct the delivery to their preferred GLS parcel shop.
“We are adapting to the wishes of recipients, which is particularly important for online
trade,” said Anne Putz, Head of Corporate Communications for the GLS Group. “With the introduction
in the Grand Duchy, we are continuing the rollout of the service in Europe.” Although a small
country, Luxemburg has a bigger economy than some larger European countries, she pointed out.
The FlexDeliveryService options are also available for international deliveries to and from
Luxemburg. The country is already fully integrated with Belgium, Germany and Austria through GLS’
IT network, and Poland will be added shortly.
“This makes online shopping abroad more comfortable, both for Luxemburgers and everyone who
buys from Luxemburg webshops,” Putz added.
