MaltaPost’s SendOn launches new hub in Hong Kong

Malta Post has set up a hub in Hong Kong for its SendOn service in response to strong growth in online shopping from China by the Mediterranean island’s residents.

Buying cross-border from China has become very popular with Maltese consumers particularly for gadgets, electronic items, clothing and household items. With this in mind, MaltaPost said it has launched a new hub in China to provide all local clients with a convenient delivery service from China at competitive rates.

Many China stores may offer competitive prices, but shipping services to Malta may be unavailable or highly prohibitive due to their cost, it explained.

Now with the launch of this new service, customers may shop from China online stores and forward their shopping to this hub and benefit from reasonably priced shipping costs to Malta. MaltaPost will deliver the shopping straight to the client's door in Malta and Gozo. To calculate the cost of shipping, the SendOn website provides an easy to use calculator.

With this new hub, SendOn clients may order items of up to 30kg from China online stores even from those which do not ship to Malta or do so with high rates. Items will arrive in Malta within 10 working days of the item reaching the hub.

Clients purchasing items of relatively high value may insure their shopping against loss or damage. For more convenience, SendOn clients may collect their shopping at any time they like from the 24/7 Easipik Parcel Lockers conveniently located around Malta and Gozo.

MaltaPost offers a solution to customers when e-sellers do not ship to Malta. The SendOn service provides a personalised code and an address in Europe (UK, Germany or Italy), the USA and now Hong Kong for delivery at the doorstep in Malta or Gozo, any post office or now to a parcel locker – Easipik.
