GLS adds Italy, Portugal, Finland, Bulgaria to cross-border B2C service

Private customers in Italy, Portugal, Finland and Bulgaria can now change delivery options for cross-border purchases under GLS’ latest product extension.

The Royal Mail international parcels subsidiary has added the four countries to its international FlexDeliveryService, extending it to a total of 21 countries in Europe, with more due to follow.

Regardless of the affiliated market from which online shoppers order products, they will receive information about the delivery in their native language. Depending on the country in question, they will then have various options to manage the time and location of their delivery. This includes, for example, parcel delivery on a desired day, forwarding to a different address or the delivery to a selected ParcelShop.

“The addition of four more countries to the network of markets already connected by the service is another milestone in our pan-European FlexDeliveryService,” said Anne Putz, Head of Communication & Marketing at the GLS Group. “Web shops and their customers, in particular, will benefit from this, as delivery according to the recipient’s choice complements an international shopping experience.”

The following countries are now connected through the FlexDeliveryService: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovenia, Slovakia, Spain and the UK.
