China’s leading e-commerce platforms, Alibaba Group and JD.com, have both reported “record” results from this year’s 6.18 mid-year shopping festival, with Alibaba revealing that merchants’ GMV rose “two to three-fold" year-over-year and JD.com noting that the event “surpassed all growth expectations.”
