Alexion switches 100% to DHL Express SAF option  

Life sciences company Alexion, AstraZeneca Rare Disease, will reduce its greenhouse gas emissions (GHG) from air freight by over 80% by fully switching to DHL Express’ SAF green fuel option for shipments of highly specialised medicines manufactured in Ireland to 19 European countries.

In a landmark partnership announced today (February 12), Alexion, an AstraZeneca subsidiary, has become the first company in Ireland to sign up to a 100% switch from traditional aviation fuel to sustainable aviation fuel (SAF). This alternative fuel will reduce GHG emissions by over 80% on average compared to traditional aviation fuel.
