Consumer electronics retailer MediaMarktSaturn has announced the rollout of hundreds of new DPD and GLS parcel shops across Germany, following a successful 18-month pilot project.
The new parcel shops will be opened in the retailer’s 400 Media Markt and Saturn outlets across the country. The rollout is part of DPD and GLS’s plans to create a joint open out-of-home (OOH) network of parcel shops and lockers across Germany over the next three years.
Successful pilot project
MediaMarktSaturn’s pilot of the GLS/DPD parcel shops began in mid-2023. During the pilot, customers in more than 50 stores had the opportunity to collect and send their parcels conveniently.
