French postal and parcel technology supplier Quadient has expanded its partnership with Japan Post via Packcity Japan, its parcel locker joint venture with Yamato Transport.

Via the extended partnership, Japanese consumers will now not only receive Japan Post deliveries at Packcity Japan’s nationwide open network of automated parcel lockers, but will also now be able to ship parcels via its lockers. The lockers for shipping parcels are known as PUDO stations and will eliminate the need to wait at delivery counters or manually handle shipping slips, Quadient said.

They can be accessed through Japan Post’s Yu-Pack parcel service. The expanded partnership with Japan Post increases the parcel volume through Packcity’s open locker network and will consolidate package pickup.
