UPS SurePost becomes Ground Saver

UPS has revealed that its SurePost low-cost delivery service has now been renamed to Ground Saver following its split from the USPS earlier this year.

According to UPS, Ground Saver is a cost-effective service for lower-priority shipments less than 10lbs. It is currently available throughout the contiguous US on a contract basis and offers delivery times comparable to UPS Ground plus 1-2 days.

UPS noted that in the future the product will cover residential addresses in all 50 states, as well as Puerto Rico.

“A more reliable service”

Revealing why the SurePost product was being rebranded, UPS noted: “UPS consistently looks for ways to improve our portfolio to deliver more cost-effective products and services. UPS Ground Saver has been created to be a faster, more reliable economy service.

“It offers better visibility, as well as a simplified claims process in the rare event that it’s needed,” it added.

In terms of visibility, Ground Saver includes five key tracking steps: pick up, in-transit updates, estimated delivery, out for delivery, and delivered. Photo proof of delivery is also included.
