DHL Express has stopped shipping parcels worth more than $800 to US consumers and is warning about ‘multi-day transit delays’ for all imports above this value in the wake of President Trump’s latest tariff changes.
The international express company said it has been “working round the clock” to process newly required customs declarations for imports worth between $800 and $2,500 but had been forced into the suspension in order “to manage this situation”.
The decision follows recent comments by DHL Group CEO Tobias Meyer to Bloomberg that many companies were getting “a bit tired” of the frequent changes in US tariffs, which are seriously impacting on world trade flows.
