Cleveron launches battery-powered outdoor parcel locker

Cleveron 354 parcel locker

Estonian parcel locker company Cleveron has launched a new battery-powered outdoor parcel locker Cleveron 354, as it aims to reduce 70% in CO2 emissions across the entire last-mile sector.

The Cleveron 354 allows companies to expand their independent last-mile delivery network and optimise operations for efficient parcel management.

Rising demand

Arti Kütt, CEO of Cleveron, says he is confident of the increasing demand for parcel lockers as a sustainable and cost-effective solution for last-mile deliveries.

“Our projections show that within a decade, 80% of last-mile deliveries in Europe will be conducted via parcel lockers, which will emerge as the preferred method among end customers. This approach is not only more cost-effective but also significantly more sustainable,” he said.

“Battery-powered parcel lockers will play a pivotal role in driving this revolution, as these can be installed basically on every street corner. Cleveron 354 is designed to directly address this challenge, offering an intelligent solution for a more sustainable world,” he explained.

Cleveron 354 features

The standout feature of the grid-independent Cleveron 354 is its 24/7 online capabilities, a unique aspect for battery-powered locker solutions. Additionally, Cleveron 354 boasts a significantly smaller CO2 lifetime footprint, approximately twenty times smaller than traditional grid-powered lockers.

Thanks to efficient energy management, Cleveron 354 offers the same capabilities as grid-dependent lockers, ensuring an excellent user experience. The battery-powered locker is user-friendly, allowing customers to retrieve their parcels by entering a code on the PIN pad, eliminating the need for a dedicated mobile application.

The locker operator receives real-time updates about their parcel lockers, ensuring continuous monitoring.

Strategic approach

Cleveron stressed that strategically placed lockers encourage parcel collection and returns from nearby solutions, thereby reducing the number of delivery vehicles on the roads. Cleveron 354 allows companies to place lockers according to their business needs strategically.

“Implementing a locker network significantly reduces the need for home deliveries which costs rise yearly. Consumers have shown a willingness to retrieve their parcels within a comfortable 5-minute walking radius, making Cleveron 354 the best solution for network expansion," Kütt added.

Cleveron established its parcel locker network in 2008 and has equipped the world's largest retailers, grocers, and logistics companies with state-of-the-art parcel automation technology over the past 15 years. Currently, its machines are deployed in 51 countries, serving a global customer base that includes industry leaders such as Inditex/Zara, H&M, IKEA, XXL, Falabella, and DHL.
