Empost, the express parcels and freight logistics division of Emirates Post, has broadened itsportfolio with the launch of new services targeting consolidated shipments and heavier items.

Meanwhile, Emirates Post has reiterated its international growth ambitions.

Empost has launched a new service called Mass Courier, enabling customers to transport up to100 domestic shipments or 25 international shipments as one consolidated shipment. The averagetransit time is 3-5 working days.

The company has also introduced a new product called “Heavies Express Service” offeringinternational transportation by air or land or shipments weighing more than 5kgs.

Meanwhile, Emirates Post chairman Abdulla Al Daboos told Emirates Business in an interviewthat as part of its international expansion strategy the postal group is conducting due diligenceon express/cargo companies in India, Pakistan and Indonesia, and is working on Sudan, Jordan andSyria.

On plans to expand the group’s freighter flights, Al Daboos said the group would complete aone-year test phase of own cargo flights in April and would review the next steps. He reiteratedthat Emirates Post, currently with two 40-tonne capacity freighters, could need 50 cargo planeswithin the next five years.

Emirates Post has a 60% share of the UAE domestic express market and a 15% share of theinternational export market, Al Daboos claimed.
