SwipBox launches parcel locker leasing service

Danish parcel locker manufacturer SwipBox has announced the launch of a new service, which enables its customers to lease, rather than buy, the firm’s Infinity parcel lockers, as the company continues to work on removing its clients’ delivery pain points.

According to SwipBox, the move comes in response to “frequent requests from customers” and gives them the option of spreading the cost of their lockers. The service also enables them to benefit from ongoing support, flexible terms and a competitive final purchase price at the end of their lease, the firm noted.

“Removing our customers’ pain points one by one is part of our DNA,” said SwipBox CEO Jens Rom. “With continued requests from customers for a leasing option, we felt now is the right time to introduce this solution. For some customers it makes sense to own their lockers, for others leasing is the right choice. We're happy that we can now cater to the latter group as well.”

SwipBox Infinity lockers can now be leased through partners in various countries, such as the DLL Group in The Netherlands, which is owned by the Rabobank Group.

Removing pain points

Leasing is the latest in a long list of SwipBox solutions aimed at removing customers’ pain points. For instance, SwipBox has recently developed and launched its Location Generator AI tool, which automates the location scouting process, thus enabling network owners to reduce the time spent on finding new locations for lockers.

Likewise, the battery-driven Infinity locker reduces both manhours and costs drastically by eliminating the need for wiring, location owner rent and ground preparation.

Battery guarantee

The new service follows SwipBox’s launch of a new 10-year battery guarantee for all new lockers, revealed by Jens Rom in an interview with CEP-Research late last year. All new lockers delivered from November 2022 onwards are now supplied with a 10-year battery guarantee. Existing lockers already deployed are not covered by the guarantee.

Since it was founded in 2017, SwipBox has built extensive experience in running parcel locker networks through cooperation with numerous partners and to date has more than 30,000 lockers installed globally. “We know the pain points, and how to mitigate them, because we have a close, trusting relationship with all our customers and we learn from each other,” Rom added.
