Top speakers go online for Parcel + Post-Expo virtual conference

Senior executives, experienced managers and other experts will discuss a wide range of key issues, including lessons from the coronavirus pandemic, at next week’s Parcel + Post-Expo ‘virtual’ conference.

The four-day online event features more than 20 conference streams. Most of the presentations are grouped in parallel streams under the headings ‘Business Strategy’, ‘Logistics Ecosystem’ and ‘Delivery Solutions’.

As a long-standing media partner, CEP-Research will be participating in and reporting on the virtual conference, which replaces the physical trade fair and accompanying conference that were originally scheduled to take place in Vienna on October 12-15.

Postal leaders address UPU Forum

The event kicks off on Monday October 12 with the one-day UPU Forum. Highlights of the morning session will include an interview by CEP-Research Chief Editor Paul Needham with UPU Director General Bishar Hussein and presentations by Emirates Post CEO Peter Somers and Australia Post CEO Christine Holgate on what postal operators have learned from the pandemic.

In the afternoon, Lithuania Post CEO Asa Sungailiene and LibanPost CEO Khalil Daoud will speak on ‘digital transformation and leading cultural change’, while UPU Deputy Director General Pascal Clivaz, Canada Post COO Charles Brewer and Doddle CCO Mike Richmond will round up the day’s topics in a panel discussion.

Responding to the pandemic

Business strategies for postal, parcel, express and logistics companies will feature heavily on the second day. Speakers including Jack Hamande (Belgian postal regulator), Amine Khechfé (Stamps.com/Endicia), Oleksandr Pertsovskyi (Ukraine Post) and Dirk van Lammeren (Prime Vision) will look at how the industry responded to the Covid-19 pandemic by changing operations and introducing new services.

Solutions for cross-border commerce, urban delivery challenges, e-commerce logistics and mobile technologies will be covered by other parallel sessions during the day.

New technologies and new solutions

The third day of Parcel + Post-Expo Virtual Live will look at topics ranging from digital innovations, transformative technologies and sorting technologies to delivering excellent customer experience.

On the final day, there will be a series of short case studies presenting how postal operators have adjusted strategies in response to the pandemic. Other sessions will cover sorting technologies, parcel lockers and electric vehicles.
