Leaders in logistics to debate CEP industry strategies and trends at Berlin conference

More than 250 senior postal and parcel executives will gather at the re-named Leaders in Logistics: Post & Parcel Europe conference in Berlin next week to discuss business models, strategies, trends, regulation and other hot topics.

Conference organiser Marketforce said topics will include: dealing with disruptive new entrants; cross-border delivery; connected infrastructure; crowdshipping; the future of the branch network; regulatory change; changing customer expectations; and the outlook for letter mail.

Top speaker this year is Frank Appel, CEO of Deutsche Post DHL Group, who will speak on “Rethinking logistics: adopting the right strategy for 2018 and beyond”.

Representing the customer side, David Schröder, Senior Vice President, Convenience at Zalando, will explain how the German fashion e-retailer wants to ensure the best possible customer service, including with deliveries.

The first day will kick off with presentations from Rainer Schwarz, Managing Director, DPD Austria, David McRedmond, CEO of An Post, and Brody Buhler, Global Managing Director, Post and Parcel Industry Group, Accenture, who will also debate industry trends and developments in a panel discussion.

A key session on day two will look at how EU authorities plan to monitor the cross-border parcel market in future. Raphaël Goulet, Head of Unit, Public Interest Services, DG GROWTH, will present the European Commission’s plans, while Denis Joram, Director, Regulatory Affairs & Studies, La Poste, will ask what they mean for delivery companies.

Other big-name speakers among a wide range of European industry executives are Ivan Culo, CEO Croatian Post, Stephen Agar, Managing Director, Consumer & Network Access, Royal Mail, and Joona Saluveer, Chief Executive Officer, Omniva.
