Retailers and carriers tackle robots, technology and innovations at Deliver conference

Up to 800 managers from European retailers, logistics providers and delivery companies are expected to attend this week’s Deliver conference at Twickenham Stadium in London which will focus on topics ranging from retail automation to delivery solutions.

After two successful events in Luxembourg (2016) and Berlin (2017), the conference moves to the UK on Tuesday June 5 and Wednesday June 6, offering a mix of presentations, workshops, “thousands” of one-to-one meetings and several networking sessions.

Among the 800 delegates will be 500 decision-makers from retailers in 50 countries, 150 logistics vendors, 50 associations, 50 speakers and policy-makers as well as media and other stakeholders. CEP-Research is again a media partner and will report on the event this week.

This year’s main theme, according to the organisers, is retail automation with keynote presentations about investments in LogTech, the panorama of future delivery solutions, robotization of fulfilment and new retail formats, such as self-checkout.

On Tuesday, several international investors will speak on ‘Investment trends in LogTech’ while three US West Coast-based start-ups will discuss how electric and self-driving vehicles “will massively change the pattern of delivery and transportation”.

On Wednesday, three international entrepreneurs will present their warehouse robotization & fulfillment automation technologies, while top executives from three sectors (grocery, furniture and apparel) will discuss the future of retail and their latest technology programmes.

The workshops include sessions by DHL on cross-border logistics, DPDgroup on delivery innovations, and several start-ups. The event also features an awards ceremony and an evening networking dinner next to the world-famous Twickenham rugby pitch.
