Leading retailers and carriers to discuss e-commerce unpredictability at TDC 2024
Leading retailers, brands, tech companies and carriers will convene at The Delivery Conference (TDC) in London, UK, next month to review 2023 and to discuss ways to tackle e-commerce unpredictability in 2024.
The event, being held at the Royal Lancaster Hotel on February 6, will bring together experts from across the logistics and e-commerce sectors to reflect on the outcomes of the previous year and set the tone for building successful plans for the year ahead.
Speakers include experts from DHL eCommerce, Amazon Shipping, Google Cloud, Microsoft, UPS, Uber Direct and GXO, plus many more.
Hot topics
During the one-day event, the speakers will discuss everything from the rapid advancement of AI and its implications for e-commerce, to how businesses can lay the groundwork for growth, and the evolution of omnichannel retail.
The event will also reveal key facts about delivery volumes over the past year, including December figures that indicate volumes have risen 8% since before Covid, according to Metapack.
CEP-Research is once again a media partner for The Delivery Conference and will be reporting from the event at the Royal Lancaster Hotel next month.
The Delivery Conference
Presented by e-commerce delivery technology provider Metapack/Auctane, TDC attracts over 1,000 leaders from the industry, more than 500 brands, an expanded roster of around 25 speakers and over 20 sessions for delegates to learn from.
40 exhibitors will also be on show in the dedicated TDC exhibition hall, where attendees can walk the floor throughout the day and join the networking drinks reception following closing remarks in the conference.
“TDC is a key event for anybody operating in the ecommerce, retail and logistics space,” said Al Ko, CEO of Auctane, Metapack’s parent company. “The event sets the tone for the year ahead and provides a unique opportunity for industry leaders to meet, discuss and learn from each other, as they lay the foundation for their 2024 ecommerce strategies.”
Key presentations
Kicking of TDC 2024 is an address from Al Ko, CEO at Auctane, before the results of the E-commerce Delivery Benchmark Report 2024 are unveiled by Ko and Richard Lim, CEO at Retail Economics. The session will showcase the key findings from the report, and dive into the strategies that can help retailers grow their business.
A panel session will follow entitled “Bouncing back and laying the groundwork for growth”, which will bring together experts including Rob Owst, Head of Home Delivery at B&Q, Lucy Matchett, Manager of the Retail and Leisure Team at OC&C, Retail Economics’ Lim, and Sahil Jaggi, District Marketing Director at UPS.
In the afternoon there will also be a keynote session from Nina Schick, Author and Generative AI Expert and Founder of Tamang, on “The rapid evolution of AI and how it will impact e-commerce.” This session will shed light on the use of AI today and the role it will play in the future.
Conference tracks
Following the morning panel session and coffee break, the conference will split into four tracks: Upgrading your Customer Experience; Carriers and Logistics Innovation; Using Marketplaces to Maximise Growth; and Discovery Theatre, taking attendees up to the lunch break.
In the Discovery Theatre, FedEx will discuss “mastering customs processes to ensure great customer experience,” while in the Upgrading your Customer Experience track experts from Google Cloud will explore the use of data to empower e-commerce.
After lunch, two streams will allow delegates to select from Schick’s keynote presentation, followed by a panel discussing the risks that AI poses and the opportunities it offers; or a session hosted by InPost, followed by a presentation from UberDirect on the demands of online shoppers.
The afternoon plenary from Alexander Stevenson, Chief Product Officer at Auctane at 4:00pm will focus on how to futureproof operations to meet changes in consumer demands.
“As we navigate the unpredictable currents of the year ahead, TDC presents an agenda designed to provide actionable insights, empowering retailers, carriers, marketplaces and technology partners to conquer challenges and seize opportunities," Ko concluded.
